| CARPETING
|
Putting
new carpeting into our AVION Trailer was a tedious yet rewarding
experience. You are going to need a full day and utility knives
with lots of extra blades. Our model 32S is made up of three sections.
The rear section goes from the beds up to the main living area.
A second piece goes into the bathroom. The final large piece covers
the rest of the trailer. We started in the front and worked our
way back. On retrospect maybe we should have done it the other
way around to get some practice although everything turned out
great. The biggest challenge is getting the RV carpet were it
belongs and at the same time keeping the backing from scratching
the cabinets. |
 |
The
first step was to remove the old carpeting. As you can see AVION
built linoleum under the carpeting. The idea was you could remove
the carpeting if going to the beach. It would be a real beach
trying to put this in and out. We never have. |

The
existing carpet was used as a template to cut the new carpet.
We cut the new piece larger so it could be trimmed as it was being
laid. We cut it too large making it very difficult to work with.
1" is probably all that is needed. |
Then
came the fun trying to get the sucker in the door and spread so
it could be trimmed. This is a two person job and requires patience.
Take your time. |
